Julia's House Children's Hospice

Julia's House is Dorset's only hospice dedicated to children with life-limiting conditions. The majority of the children we care for are unlikely to live into adulthood ( defiened as beyond the age of 18). The childrens hospice complements the work of the Julia's House Community Team, which consist of 90 nurses and carers who travel the county providing life changing support for the families in their homes.
It costs around £2.8m to run Julia's House, yet the charity receives only a minimal ammount of it's total annual funding from the government. In 2010 the charity provided 17388 hours of care for Dorset's children - 8600 hours in the hospice and 9420 hours in the community.

Fire Fighters Charity
Every year, thousands of fire fighters are injured whilst protecting the public. Every 30 seconds in the UK, fire fighters are called to an incident, putting their lives on the line, and often sustaining physical injuries whilst carrying out their duties. The Fire Fighters Charity is here for fire fighters during their times of need, and assists over 17,000 individuals every year, by providing pioneering treatment and support services.
